Letters of Recommendation Page 3 Dear Larry, I trained on the Twice As Sharp® and Ookami Gold® systems at Sharp Edges. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank Larry and Linda for their hospitality and training. Larry went above and beyond to help me in my business and learning to sharpen. Being new at this I needed to learn everything. Larry showed infinite patience throughout the process. Larry's process of teaching was not on a set schedule. Rather on working at my individual pace. We did not move on until I thought I had learned the lesson. In my opinion these are the signs of a great teacher. I was taught about sharpening and repairing all types of shears not base on steps to memorize but on how and why it works. To me this is a wonderful way to learn. While steps are great, if for some reason the steps do not work you're lost. However, once you know how and why it works you will be better able to troubleshoot problems and get the desired results. In the end I came away feeling very confident in my abilities to diagnose and sharpen all type of shears. I was actually there to learn scissor sharpening on the Wolff® systems. However, Larry took the time to go over clipper blade sharpening and knife sharpening. Not only did he do an excellent job of training me on sharpening. He also went into all aspects of the sharpening business. This was extremely helpful to me to know some of the mistakes not to make. In closing I would like to highly recommend Sharp Edges Training Classes. If you have been sharpening for several years or just starting out I believe you can learn something while training with Larry. At the very least you will come away with a good friend in the sharpening business you can trust.
